Sheepdog in stolen jeep found
'Patch', the black and white Collie dog which was in the back of a Toyota Land Cruiser jeep stolen from a farm at Kill, Rathmolyon, yesterday morning has been found safe and well.
The Regan family had launched an appeal to try to find their sheepdog and were also appealing for information on their blue Toyota Land Cruiser jeep stolen from the farm at around 10.30am yesterday morning.
Roman Regan told the Meath Chronicle how his father Declan had gone into a shed to check a sheep and as he came out the jeep was being driven away. The family's sheepdog, which they have had for over four years, was in the back. Roman said they had been "lost" without Patch. They are delighted that their dog has been found. However, their jeep has still not been recovered.
Trim Gardai are investigating the theft of the blue coloured Toyota Land Cruiser which has a registration 11 RN 639. Anyone who noticed suspicious activity at the time or has any information on the vehicle's whereabouts is asked to contact Trim Garda Station on (046) 9431222.
It is not the first time the Regans have been victims of a theft. "About five months ago we had a trailer stolen. it was a Hudson 12 x 6ft trailer that was stolen from our yard as well," said Roman.
