Mountcharles confirms there will be a Slane show next year
Lord Henry Mountcharles has confirmed there will be a concert at Slane Castle next year.
Negotiations are nearing completion to bring a band to the Co. Meath venue in early June 2019, he said
Lord Henry confirmed the concert while speaking in a lengthy interview on Louth/Meath's LMFM's Late Lunch radio show this afternoon (Thursday).
He told presenter Gerry Kelly that he hoped the band - which has never before played Slane - would create a wow factor when it was announced.
Apart from ruling out rumours that Paul McCartney would front the next concert, he declined to be drawn on any further speculation about the act's identify, other than saying it would be 'special'.
He added that due to the workload in establishing the new whiskey brewery and restaurant at the Castle this year, it was decided not to hold a concert in 2018.
Lord Henry Mountcharles spoke at length about his time at Slane Castle and its development as well as his ongoing battle with cancer during an in-depth interview on the show which is available to listen back to at www.lmfm.ie
