Sean Boylan's son scores winning goal for Mayo - fact not fiction
Sean Boylan guided Meath to four All-Ireland SFC titles with the third achieved against a John Maughan-managed Mayo side in 1996, but last night Sean's son Ciaran scored the winning goal for Mayo in the Connacht JFC quarter-final.
Ciaran Boylan now plays for Mayo club Achill and to add an extra twist to the tale, Maughan coached Ciaran Boylan during his time as Achill manager.
However, last night at McHale Park, Ciaran Boylan scored a winning Mayo goal five-minutes into stoppage-time for a thrilling 2-15 to 1-17 win over Roscommon.
What are the chances of Ciaran Boylan helping Mayo to that elusive All-Ireland SFC title success?
