Man found with facial injuries at Market Square

Gardai are investigating an incident in which a man was found lying bleeding in Market Square, Navan, last night.

Gardaí received a call from ambulance control at around midnight and arrived at Market Square where they found a man with facial injuries, bleeding on the footpath.

The man, who was 39, refused to engage with gardai and was conveyed to Drogheda Hospital.

He discharged himself from hospital early this morning and is now assisting gardai with their enquiries. Navan Gardai are investigating to try to establish what occurred.

Gardai are examining CCTV as part of their investigation and are also appealing for any witnesses to contact Navan gardai Station.
