Sign up for Tidy Towns in Johnstown

New street signs welcoming people to Johnstown have been erected on the approach roads while signs warning people to clean up after their dogs and bag dispensers have been provided around the Johnstown People’s Park
The Welcome sings were sponsored by Johnstown Tidy Towns and erected on their behalf by Meath County Council.  
Spokesperson Alan Lawes said that as a result of some fund raising events supported by Smiths Super Valu and the people of Johnstown together with grants from Meath County Council the committee were now in a position to expand their activities beyond just litter picking. The street signs were only the start of many projects planned to improve the look of the Johnstown area this year.
Canine volunteer 'Miska' helped highligh the Tidy Town's “Bag it and Bin it” campaign, encouraging dog owners to act responsibly.
"We have placed warning signs throughout the community and we have also placed bag dispensers around Johnstown People’s Park giving dog owners no excuse not to clean up after their dogs," said Alan.

The Johnstown Tidy Towns Committee are holding a 'Dog Day' in Johnstown Peoples Park on the 24th June. Dog Behaviourist, Julie Holmes, will be there to give free information and advice on dog care.
