WATCH: It's not just Meath where firefighters have had a major battle on their hands
Fire breaks put in place to prevent spread of fire in Frayne Bog in Kildalkey appear to be holding after almost a week of battling and containing wildfires on the large swathes of foresrty and bogland in the area.
Meath Fire Service are continuing to keep the fire from advancing across the fire break in Brannockstown forestry while Coillte assisted with a fire break at Clonmore Lane providing excellent protection for the properties in the area. Fire crews have been utilising High Pressure Hose Reel to quickly extinguish gorse and forest fires. It is light weight extremely maneuverable allowing firefighters deep access onto difficult and rough terrain in Brannockstown and Frayne Bog.
Meanwhile Meath Fire Service's colleagues in Offaly have released dramatic aerial footage of fires raging across the Slieve Blooms.
