Death of former Navan councillor and footballer, Frank Carberry

^{The death has occurred, after a short illness, of the former chairman of Navan Urban Council, Frank Carberry, who was also a well-known footballer.
Mr Carberry, of Abbeylands Crescent, Navan, was a former Navan O'Mahony's footballer, who also played in goals with Meath. 
He won three senior championships with Navan O'Mahonys and a 1975 National Football League title with the county, as well as under-age medals with De La Salles.
Co-opted to Navan Urban Council for Fianna Fail following the resignation of Independent Dermot Forde in 1983, he remained a member until 1999, elected in 1985 and 1994, and was chairman on three occasions. He didn't run in the 1999 elections due to work commitments.
A taxi driver in the town, he was working up until illness struck two weeks ago. 
Aged 66, he is survived by his wife, Jean; family, Keith, Louise and Chloe; sister, Margaret, son-in-law Noel, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, grandchildren Adam, Conor and Ava, nephews, nieces, relatives and many friends.
He is reposing at Fitzsimons Funeral Home, Navan on Wednesday afternoon from 4pm, with removal at 7.40pm to arrive in St. Mary's Church at 8pm. Funeral Mass is on Thursday at 12 noon, followed by burial in St Mary's Cemetery.}
