Battling Meath out-gunned by super fit Cork

There was no reprieve for Meath as they fell victim to a heavy 0-6 to 3-21 defeat to Cork  in the All-Ireland Senior Camogie Championship at Trim today. 

The Rebel County camogie players arrived in Trim with a big reputation and while they didn't have it all their own way, particularly in the opening half, they eventually produced the kind of form that underlined why they are currently going for their third All-Ireland title in four years. 

Meath battled bravely and at the break only trailed by 0-2 to 0-10 against a team who were expected to win by the proverbial landslide and who looked extremely fit throughout this encounter. 

Three goals in the second-half, two of them scored by Niamh McCarthy, and one from the impressive Amy O'Connor helped to put a healthy gloss on the scoreboard as far as the visitors were concerned. 

Meath players never stopped working with Jane Dolan firing over four points, all from frees, while Maggie Randall and Aoife Maguire, right at the end, shot over points from play. However, chances were few and far between for John Davis's side who face Wexford away next weekend.
