Freddy defends title in Bettystown five-mile road race
Raheny Shamrock athlete Freddy Stukk returned to Bettystown tonight to defend his Cilles AC five-mile road race title and he won the race in 26:07 after a good tussle with Simon Ryan of Boyne AC,
Close to 500 competitors took part and David O'Connell from Bohermeen was the top Meath finisher in seventh overall and he also won the M50 category.
Yasmin Canning from Drogheda & District was the first woman home in 33:08.
Mary Hanley of Na Fianna was third woamn overall and she won the F50 category while Helen Leddy from Moynalty was second in F55.
Navan women's team finished third in the team category behind Balbriggan and Drogehda.
