Dunsany make it to knock-out phase - just
Dunsany advanced to the knock-out phase of the JFC this afternoon at Páirc Táilteann when a draw (0-13 to 1-10) against Moynalty got them through.
This wasn't a confidence-inspiring display by Dunsany as they played against 14 men after Moynalty lost Adrian Lynch to a red card in the 23rd minute.
Five points from Pierre Fox, three frees, a '45' and one from play helped Dunsany to a merited 0-8 to 0-3 interval lead against Moynalty.
David Hobson, Shane Brennan and Cathal Burke also sent over for a Dunsany side that squandered three good goal chances, but had their task simplified when Moynalty's Adrian Lynch departed (red card) in the 23rd minute.
Moynalty also had a first-half goal chance but had to settle for a brace of pointed Paul Lynch frees and one from Alan Brogan.
Dunsany did just about enough to stay in the game after the resumption but five points with an extra man was a poor return as Fox (two), Kevin Keena, Declan Smyth and Cathal Murphy added points.
Gutsy Moynalty kept battling with Anthony Nevin, Padraig O'Connor and Ronan Lynch prominent and they had three Paul Lynch points augmented by Barry Nevin, Anthony Nevin, Michael Lynch and Alan Brogan.
Then in added time Moynalty got back on terms from what looked like a soft penalty - it was well converted by Paul Lynch, but it was all
to no avail.Dunsany will play Wolfe Tones in a preliminary quarter-final.
