Gaeil Colmcille whip up a whirlwind in Walterstown
Gaeil Colmcille did what they had to do and chalked up a 4-22 to 0-8 victory over Curraha in the SFC at Walterstown this afternoon.
Lar Wall's side won pulling up - as the scoreline suggests - and if they reproduce this kind of form they will be a force to be reckoned with in the knock-out phase.
The north Meath side simply had to win and they had effectively achieved that at the break when they led 2-13 to 0-3 with goals from Fionn Reilly and Martin Barrett.
Further goals in the second-half from Seamus Mattimoe and Gary Arkins helped to seal the win. Mattimoe topscored for the winners with 1-6.
Conor Moriarty hit over four points for Curraha while Jack O'Connor and David Coyle hit two apiece but they go into a relegation battle now hoping this defeat won't affect their morale too much.
