Young Meath classical musicians in concert

Two young Meath classical musicians are set to take the stage in a special concert at the Solstice Theatre in Navan on Friday 14th September.

Julieanne Forrest is a 15 year-old student at St Michael's Loreto Navan and currently studies violin with Dr Fionnuala Hunt at the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin. Julieanne has won numerous prizes including the coveted St Cecilia and Rhoda Coghill Cups at the 2018 ESB Feis Ceoil, and the inaugural 
John Pollard Bursary for violin.
J J McNamara is a young virtuoso pianist from Dunshaughlin, who is studying in London. Although only 19, he has performed as soloist with international orchestras, won first prize in multiple national piano competitions and made his National Concert hall debut in Dublin last year. He was one of only six Irish pianists chosen to take part in the 2018 Dublin International Piano Competition. 
This year he was awarded a scholarship by Dr Ite O'Donovan and the Dublin Choral Foundation, and is a recipient of a grant from Meath County Council under the Professional Artist Development Fund.
This has been an exciting year for Julieanne. During the summer she was in Montreal where she spent a fortnight studying with internationally-known violin tutor Professor Mauricio Fuks.
Next month, Julieanne hopes to travel to the United States for further study under the guidance of Professor Fuks at the Jacobs Schoo, of Music at the Indiana University in Bloomington.
