Dunboyne ease into JFC decider

Dunboyne psoed too many questions for battling Ballivor in the JFC semi-final at Pairc Tailteann this evening as they won by 1-19 to 2-13.

Ballivor gave it the best shot they could, but Dunboyne had too much strength-in-depth and now look like a good bet for the title when they tackle St Vincent's in the decider.

Barry Comer's second-half goal turned out to be the crucial score, but that was only because Ballivor finished with a little bit of a flourish that produced four late points.

Goals also made the difference in the opening half as Ballivor netted twice to take a 2-5 to 0-8 interval lead after a well-contested 30 minutes. Martin Healy's solo raid gave Ballivor that first goal in the 12th minute, but the second was a speculative lob into the square from Nicholas Potterton.

The high ball was misjudged although the presence of Adam Gannon also had an impact, but the goal stood.

Ballivor's points came from Gannon (two), Mark Healy, Kevin McKeon (free) and Brendan McKeon while Dunboyne reeled off the
scores from Jack Cox (three), Darragh Nolan (two, one free), Sean McGrath, Patrick Conway (free)  Ben McBrien.

However, that solid second-half saw Dunboyne win deservedly.
