Trim and Kells vying for enterprise town award
Bank of Ireland's national competition to find the country's most enterprising town is underway with judging taking place in Trim and Kells today.
Trim and Kells are among 100 towns vying for the title and experienced judges range from county managers to chief executives of major organisations.
Speaking on behalf of Trim Tourism Network, Michael Hughes said he delighted to be involved with the committee bringing the judges to Trim. “This is a huge award and Trim is a shinning example of a thriving town with a range of businesses both small and large which shows the outstanding success of the towns entrepreneurs and the support from their local communities, " he said.
"We are looking forward to showcasing Trim in a very different way and while we in Trim are in competition with Kells on this award, we are collaborating our tourism efforts with the Kells Tourism Network to drive the promotion of both our areas located in the Boyne Valley while actively working with Boyne Valley Tourism and Ireland’s Ancient East to maximize the benefits."
The awards recognise and reward towns where businesses and community have come together to showcase the spirit of enterprise in their areas.
Some of Trim’s finest community organisations are out in force today to showcase what they do. These community groups are supported by local businesses, the community and Meath Co Council and help create a great place for people to live.
