Kiltale continue drive for five
The drive for five SHC titles continues for Kiltale after they defeated Ratoath 3-18 to 1-14 at Pairc Tailteann today.
The reigning champions looked odds on to win the semi-final encounter from very early on with Ross Ryan finding the net after just three minutes. The same player added a second goal to help David Troy's side lead 3-11 to 1-8 at the interval with Mark O'Sullivan also hitting the target.
Ratoath struggled to find their form from the start and while Padraig O'Hanrahan slotted home a goal for them in that opening half they never really looked like catching their rivals.
O'Hanrahan also registered nine points, seven frees, one '65' but only three other Ratoath players managed to get on the scoresheet - Bryan McMahon, Gavin McGowan and Darragh Kelly who was their man-of-the-match.
Kiltale had eight scorers with Ryan finishing with 2-1 and O'Sullivan 1-3 while Jack Regan hit six points.
Kiltale, were never really pushed hard in this game and they go into the final against Trim as red-hot favourites.
In the IHC sem-final Gaeil Colmcille recorded a 3-10 to 1-14 win over Clann na nGael to book a place against Na Fianna in the final. Keith Reilly, Dylan Roche and Stephen Reddy bagged the goals for the winners with Gary Cole getting one back for Clann na nGael who had Garry Mangan sent off in the final minutes
