Kiltale blown off course in Wexford
Kiltale's Leinster IHC ambitions lie in tatters this evening as they were beaten 2-5 to 2-9 by a marginally superior St Mogue's Fethard side in wexford Park this afternoon.
Playing with the aid of a strong wind Kiltale led after seven minutes when Peter Durnin fired a brilliant goal, but they allowed Fethard stay in touch with Brian Power producing one of the finest goals you will ever see.
An equally impressive goal from Anthony Forde restored Kiltale's advantage, but with such a strong wind at their backs there was the sense that their 2-4 to 1-3 interval lead wouldn't be enough.
And that is how it transpired.
Within nine minutes of the restart Fethard were level when John Tubritt netted and with Kiltale's Brian O'Reilly and Fethard's Ciaran Dwyer both seeing red the extra space seemed to benefit the hosts as they restricted Kiltale to just one second-half point anded their Leinster dreams.
