Navan make it five from five as UL Bohs are conquered
With the help of a storming second-half display Navan defeated UL Bohemians to record their fifth successive win in the AIL Div 2A at Balreask Old today.
The opening 40 minutes produced little in terms of attacking rugby as both sides sought to come to terms with the conditions - and each other.
With the last kick of the half Colm O'Reilly slotted the ball between the posts from a well-struck penalty kick but there was little indication of what was to come.
The second-half started with a brilliant Navan try scored by James McInerney, converted by O'Reilly, and it to got better from there on as the game opened up.
McInerney went on to score another try, while Evan Dixon also broke through for the home side with O'Reilly converting one of those touchdowns. O'Reilly kicked the ball between the posts from a long-range penalty. In the last minute or so of the game Navan camped on the UL Bohs line and were rewarded with a penalty try to complete a rousing victory for Ray Moloney's in-form charges.
The visitors did break through for a try scored by James McCarthy in the second-half however there was never any real threat to the home team's dominance.
