North Meath keep steaming on in Leinster League
It gets better and better for North Meath in the Leinster League Div 3 with the black and ambers notching up their fifth successive victory by defeating Ardee 34-25 earlier today.
North Meath welcomed Ardee to the The Grange, just outside Kells for this encounter and they mixed enough power upfront added to some neat footwork and pace by the backs to record their win.
Particularly effective in finding gaps in the visitor's defence was NM winger Adrian Sheridan who helped himself to a hat-trick of tries with Eanna Finn, Chris McCartan and Andrew Dowds also breaking through for touchdowns while out-half Joe Carry tagged on two conversions.
North Meath led 17-13 at the break but Ardee hit back with an unconverted try of their own early in the second-half to lead 18-17 however it wasn't long before JP Matthews' team exerted their dominance to win with plenty to spare. At one stage in the opening half Ardee had two men in the sinbin at the same time.
North Meath sustain their place at the top of the division with the victory with the team showing plenty of resilience and control much to the delight of their supporters and renowned clubmen such as Jack Kenny.
