Yellow weather warning for Meath
With heavy rainfall expected over the next 24 hours, a Status Yellow rainfall warning is in place for Meath which will continue until noon tomorrow.
The yellow weather warning, which came into effect at 12 noon, is also in place for counties Dublin, Louth and Wicklow. According to Met Eireann, persistent showers will lead to rainfall accumulations of 25 to 35mm.
After a mild weekend, temperatures have dipped significantly with winds coming from an easterly direction bringing a noticeable chill to the air. Tonight heavy showers are expected with temperatures of between 1 and 4 degrees. As winds decrease overnight, some frost may occur in sheltered inland areas.
Tomorrow will be a cold day with scattered showers, some heavy, with a risk of hail and thunder.
