Gowran double for Andrew Lynch

Ashbourne jockey Andrew Lynch was in double form at Gowran Park with a real Meath flavour.

Lynch was on the mark with the Francis Casey-trained Ar Eagla Na Heagla whicj was winning for the first time, but had some good form over hurdles previously.

 “She was unlucky a few times and probably should have won in Sligo once or twice but she’s had her day now," said the trainer.

Lynch also scored on Lever Du Soleil for trainer Gavin Cromwell in the three-year-old maiden hurdle in a race where the Noel Meade-trained Future Proof was second.

Trainer Gordon Elliott was also in winning form starting with the first division of the three-year-old hurdle with Flat To The Max, which won first time out on the flat last April for Ger Lyons and Colin Keane.

The first four home were trained in Meath - Noel Meade's Union Gap and Sean Flanagan were second, the Gavin Cromwell-trained Power Sail was third and Tom McCourt's Here In The Dark was fourth.
