Sean Flanagan clears the last on the way to winning the Troytown with Tout Est Permis

Troytown win for Noel Meade

Castletown trainer Noel Meade won the Troytown at Navan today for the first time since Heist landed the big race back in 1997.

Sean Flanagan was on board the Meade-trained Tout Est Permis which made it two wins from two since joining the team at Tu Va Stables.

Gordon Elliott's bid to win the Troytown for a fifth successive year was foiled with Out Sam in fifth the best of his 11 starters.

"I was very sweet on him and he worked a bomb the other day. I felt if we just keep him together now until Sunday he’ll win," stated Meade.

WINNERS' ENCLOSURE

Meath winners also featured in other races with Robbie Power having a double for Jessica Harrington (who had three winners) while Gordon Elliott and Davy Russell took the opener.

Kilmessan trainer Matthew Smith was also on the mark when Warnaq won a handicap hurdle with Ashbourne jockey Andrew Lynch on board.
