Treacy set for Euro return at Tilburg
After an impressive fifth at the National Cross-Country Championships in Abbotstown on Sunday last Dunboyne AC's Sara Treacy has been selected to represent Ireland at the European Cross-Country Championships.
The championships will take place in Tilburg, Holland on Sunday 9th December.
Treacy will join Ciara Mageean, Ann Marie McGlynn, Fionnuala Ross, Michelle Finn and Kerry O’Flaherty on the Irish senior ladies team.
The Moynalvey woman has endured a injury nightmare since running a personal best in the 3,000m Steeplechase at the Rio Olympics in 2016.
In recent months she has shown an impressive return to form, competing in a number of league races in England where she is based.
Earlier this month she was voted overall athlete of the year by her club, Dunboyne AC.
Athletics Ireland is entering teams in all six races, plus the mixed-relay.
Tilburg hosted the championships in 2005, but this time the action will feature a new challenging course at the Beekse Bergen Safari Park, situated just to the south-east of Tilburg.
