Alan Douglas to receive inaugural Ronan Kelly Cup

Trim's Alan Douglas will receive the inaugural Ronan Kelly Cup when he is presented with the Meath hurler of the Year award at the Co Board Presentation night in the Castle Arch Hotel Trim on Friday evening.
Douglas who returned to the Meath hurling panel this year also played a starring role in inspiring Trim to the SHC final and his individual performances throughout the championship drew plenty of praise from the hurling fraternity.

Ronan Kelly was the highly effective PRO for Kiltale hurling club and was a staunch supporter of the club prior to his passing in July.
Ronan is survived by his mother Breda, father Paddy, his brothers James and Padraig and sister Sarah, his grandfather Paddy senior as well as aunts and uncles.

Ronan was a regular at Kiltale or Meath hurling games and was rightfully proud of the club's great achievements accumulating successive SHC titles.

He was in attendance for the SHC draw between Kildalkey and Kiltale at Pairc Tailteann on the Sunday evening prior to his passing.  
Ronan had muscular dystrophy but he didn't let the condition prevent him from following the sport, or the club, he loved.
