Christmas Crackers from Pilgrim St

Meath based band Pilgrim St will play one of their two Christmas shows at the popular Garlow Cross venue ‘The Stables’ on Saturday night, 15th December. The show is one of two over the festive period for the hardworking Pilgrims who have been on tour throughout 2018. After a busy year recording their Second EP -  ‘Pilgrim St The EP’ the band is looking forward to wrapping up a successful year with two local shows.
After playing to a full house already this year in June, The band will return to the Ramor Theatre in Virginia on 5th January for another intimate performance.
2018 will be a year to remember for the talented seven-piece band that formed back in 2015 in Beggy’s Bar in Navan. This year the band has played prestigious bluegrass and folk festivals throughout the summer period, as well as filling popular venues and theatres from Tralee to Donegal. Pilgrim St’s live performances consist of high energy bluegrass stompers to melodic folk with harmony and melody to boot. Their take on old style classics mixed with their own blend of original music is what has caught the crowd’s attention this year.  The band is now set to embark on recording their first album in 2019. It will be recorded in the early part of the year and will be produced by Oisin Leech from The Lost Brothers  who also worked with them on the second EP.
The live performances can feature songs from well-known artists such as Hank Williams, Woody Guthrie and the ever popular Seeger Sessions with Thin Lizzy, and some musical ramblings thrown in for good measure.
The Tara Na Ri show kicks off at 8pm. Joy Booth will open up proceedings with songs from her forthcoming album. Tickets are available from ticketstop.ie and cost €15. Information on both gigs can be found at pilgrimst.com.
