30 jobs created as new state-of-the-art cinema opens in Navan
Navan's new state-of-the art cinema opened last night, creating 30 jobs in the process.
New owners have invested €7m refurbishing the town centre cinema, now part of the Arc chain, off Kennedy Road in the town.
TV personality and town native, Hector O Heochagain, was on ribbon-cutting duty along with visitors from Star Wars and Transformers.
Guests at last night's opening then enjoyed a preview screening of 'Aquaman'.
The cinema has been closed since summer for a major renovation and upgrading of the 35,000 square feet outlet on the expanded site of the former Diamond cinema, which has undergone complete renovation.
The Arc Cinema Navan will be the north east’s only all-VIP seating cinema with each auditorium boasting extra-large luxurious rocking leather seats for maximum comfort with stadium-style tiers for a perfect view from every seat.
This six-screen luxury cinema will be the third location for the Arc Cinema chain, which joins those in Drogheda and Wexford town.
All screens will use the latest technology with crystal-clear digital projection, 3D and high frame rate capability, extra-large screens and powerful Dolby Digital 7.1 surround sound for the ultimate film experience.
The entire premises has been stripped back to shell and core and boasts new lifts, foyer, entrance, screens and the luxury leather armchair seats.
