St Pat's before today's game

St Pat's power on in Leinster

St Patrick's, CS, Navan continued their progress in the Leinster Schools PP SFC when they defeated St Joseph's, Rochfortbridge 2-17 to 0-9 at Pairc Tailteann.

Trim's Aaron Lynch showed the way for the Navan side clocking 13 points, nine from frees, in a barnstorming performance.

St Pat's didn't have it all their own way in the opening half but they took a huge step to success shortly before half-time when a long centre from Barry O'Connell was touched to the net by Cian McBride. At the break St Pat's led 1-9 to 0-4.

With their quick-passing game St Pat's continued to tag on the scores in the second-half and in the closing stages the issue was put beyond all doubt when Niall Finnerty hit the net from close range.

The talented Aaron Keeleghan was the chief marksman for St Joseph's with seven points, five from frees.

This was an excellent team display from the Navan side who now progress to the quarter-finals.
