Toner, O'Sullivan and Leinster defeat the Wasps
Devin Toner returned form injury to help Leinster chalk up a 37-19 victory over Wasps in the Champions Cup at the Ricoh Arena today. Another player from the Kiltale/Moynalvey parish, Hugh O'Sullivan, made his Champions Cup debut coming on as a second-half substitute.
Already through to the quarter-finals before today Leinster ensured they will be at home for a quarter-final clash with Ulster at home while Munster take on Edinburgh away.
Toner missed the game against Toulouse last week but came back into the Leinster team for today's game along with other players returning from injury - Jack McGrath and Robbie Henshaw.
Toner had a brilliant 2018 when he helped Leinster to a Champions Cup and PRO 14 double success. In the PRO 14 final Toner helped himself to a rare try in the 40-32 defeat of Scarlets. He was also involved as Ireland claimed the Six Nations Grand Slam and finished off the year by defeating the All-Blacks.
The big Moynalvey man was one of the monthly winners at the Meath Sports Awards. Members of his family picked up the award at the Knightsbrook Hotel, Trim on Friday night.
