Hurling success for Navan students
It was a busy week for the GAA-playing students at St Patrick's CS, Navan with a North Leinster Hurling title the highlight.
The St Pat's hurlers won the North Leinster Post Primary Schools Senior Hurling C1 title in fine style with Dunderry's Dermot Kelly the captain of the team.
Westmeath opposition in the form of Castlepollard CC provided a stern test, but the Meath students prevailed with a 1-11 to 0-9 victoryat Raharney.
There was disappointment for the footballers today when they lost out by six points in the Leinster PP Schools Junior Football A semi-final against Colaiste Mhuire, Mullingar.
The Colaiste Mhuire, Mullingar lads won by 2-18 to 4-6.
There was an all-Meath clash in the North Leinster PP Schools Senior Football B semi-final today where Ashbourne CS prevailed by 5-21 to 3-9 against O’Carolan College, Nobber.
The main focus for St Pat's on the football front now is the forthcoming quarter-final of the Leinster PP Schools Senior Football A championship (Brother Bosco Cup) away to Marist, Athlone on Saturday 16th February.
