Ayr raid a success for Gordon Elliott
Gordon Elliott launched a raid at Ayr today and duly delivered a treble from five runners with Galvin getting the show on the road for Davy Russell.
It was win number five for Galvin with Russell challenging three out in a novices hurdle and scoring by over a length despite hanging to the left.
Winner number two arrived in a novices handicap chase when Veinard gained some compensation for a third fence exit
at Gowran park two weeks ago.
The hat-trick of winners was completed when Arion Sky returned to Ayr and won the flat race to complete a double for Russell.
Arion Sky was third on course debut at Ayr in November and last time finished sixth in a bumper at Limerick.
Elliott will be heading to Punchestown on Sunday where he has a number of contenders for the Boylesports Grand National Trial at Punchestown on Sunday, with Gordon Elliott responsible for nine of them.
Alpha Des Obeaux tops the weights while Don Poli, Monbeg Notorious and Irish National winner General Principle could all feature along with last year's winner Folsom Blue.
“We’ve left a good few in and we’ll just see how things are looking later in the week with the weather. It’s possible Folsom Blue could run again,” said Elliott.
