WOW! Has the €175m EuroMillions jackpot just been won in Meath?
A Co. Meath village is waking up to rumours that a syndicate of siblings from the area have scooped the EuroMillions jackpot.
Speculation continues to mount this morning that the family syndicate believed to be from Bellewstown, Duleek and its surrounds are over €175 million richer.
Lottery chiefs have confirmed that the ticket was not bought online but have yet to say what shop the golden numbers were bought in.
It's the biggest jackpot ever won by an Irish ticket holder.
Local cllr Sharon Keogan confirmed that rumours were rife around Duleek this morning.
"There are many names names being bandied about and the excitement is palpable around the area.
"It would be fantastic if it was true but no one has come forward yet so we will just have to wait and see if the rumours are true at all"
National Lottery chief executive Dermot Griffin said the shop where the ticket was bought would not be revealed for a few days as procedures had to be followed
"Whilst this is a massive win it can come as a shock to a player and we advise them to stay calm, get good independent legal and financial advice and contact us as soon as they can."
The winning numbers were 1, 8, 18, 19, and 39 while the Lucky Stars were 7 and 9.
