Navan man charged with possession of drugs worth €865,000
A 52-year-old man with a Navan address was remanded in custody with consent to bail when he appeared at a special court in Navan today charged with unlawful possession of drugs worth an approximate €865,000.
Ronan Finnegan, Tailteann Drive, Windtown, Navan was charged with four counts of alleged possession of drugs, and possession for sale or supply at his address on 8th March 2019.
Garda Nora Connolly gave evidence of arrest before Judge Dermot Dempsey. She said the accused had made no reply when charged. The accused was remanded in custody to appear by video link at Trim District Court next Thursday.
Bail was fixed at a person €2,000 (€500 of it in cash) and an independent surety of €3,000 (€1,500 in cash). Conditions attached to bail included signing on daily at Navan Garda Station from 9am to 9pm, to surrender his passport and not apply for travel documents, obey a curfew from 11pm to 6am, remain sober, supply a mobile phone number to Gardai. Barrister Niall Gallagher (instructed by solicitor Maurice Regan) appeared on his behalf.
