Aontú announces fourth local election candidate
Trim native Dessie Doran has been selected as the local candidate for Aontú – TD Peadar Tóibín’s new 32-county party.
Dessie, from a well-known local family, and Aontú aim to give people a real voice on all issues despite the FG–FF “groupthink” at every level of Government.
He is actively campaigning on a wide range of local issues, including saving Navan Hospital, improving public transport, curbing anti-social behaviour, and cutting commercial rates to help bring more jobs into local towns.
He joins Emer Tóibín in Navan, Peter Devin in Kells and Peter Whelan in Slane on Aontú’s ticket for Meath County Council.
Aontú already has at least 58 candidates standing throughout Ireland in the upcoming local elections.
