McKee supports city status for Drogheda

South Drogheda/east Meath Fianna Fail councillor, Stephen McKee, has had his motion calling for greater co-operation between Louth and Meath County Councils on obtaining city status for Drogheda adopted at yesterday's local area council meeting.

"'I am pleased that my motion calling for greater co-operation and a proper joined-up plan to be put in place for the whole area has been adopted by my fellow councillors in Meath," he stated afterwards.  "I am now calling on Louth councillors to similarly adopt this approach so that we can all get on with the serious business of helping make Drogheda a better place to live and raise a family.

"I am actively campaigning for Drogheda to be declared a city and help ensure Drogheda receives the investment for job creation and services it needs to reach its full potential. This would benefit all residents both sides of the county boundary in south Drogheda and across east Meath," stated McKee, who grew up in Stameen on the Dublin Road, Drogheda.
