Athlone lady is most stylish at Fairyhouse

Paula Gannon from Athlone was named the Dunboyne Castle Hotel & Spa Most Stylish Lady at the €500,000 Boylesports Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse Racecourse today. Paula beat a contingent of Ireland's most stylish ladies and ultimately walked away with the sought after title announced in front of a huge crowd in the parade ring on Easter Monday.

The judging panel, including singer-songwriter, Una Healy, executive producer of Xpose, Debbie O’Donnell, and Gráinne Ross, managing director of Dunboyne Castle, chose the most stylish lady based on her interpretation of this year’s theme, Country Chic. Paula wore floral suit from Hobbs, she handmade her headpiece, her shoes were from Dunnes Stores, which she added accessorises to, and her bag was from Coast.

Paula was presented with the best prize for the event to date - a trip to Nashville! The prize includes an overnight stay in Dunboyne Castle Hotel & Spa with dinner, then a private transfer to Dublin Airport, where the winner will enjoy the on-demand luxury services of Platinum Services, including their very own private suite, access to full bar and menu options, shower facilities and more. Paula will then be whisked away for four nights to the luxurious Bobby Hotel in Nashville.

Commenting on the Dunboyne Castle Most Stylish Lady, Una Healy said: The judges and I had a really difficult decision choosing from the final ten ladies. The standard of style today was really high and the good weather brought out some great colour and headpieces, which was great to see. It was a unanimous decision from me and my fellow judges, Grainne and Debbie - Paula’s style really stood out for its elegance, colour palette and her accessories.

Adding to this, Gráinne Ross, managing director of Dunboyne Castle Hotel & Spa, said: Dunboyne Castle’s first year sponsorship of the Most Stylish Lady at Fairyhouse was a great success. We want to thank all of the ladies who entered, they brought a real sense of occasion to the day. Paula was a worthy winner and we hope she enjoys The Bobby Hotel in Nashville.
An exciting day in the racing and style calendar, the €500,000 Boylesports Irish Grand National and Most Stylish Lady officially kicks off the racing and style season. The historic racing festival attracts over 25,000 people over three days, and the Most Stylish Lady competition on Easter Monday is the main off-track attraction.

The two runners up were Barbara Payton-Gleeson from Rolestown, and Sinead Leonard from Beaumount in Dublin. Barbara wore a Susan Ryan hat, and her dress and bag were from Topshop, her shoes from Savida at Dunnes Stores. Sinead meanwhile wore a dress from Zara, a hat from CC Millinery and her shoes were from Louis Vuitton and her bag was Kildare Village.
