Tayto Park announce a special Autism Awareness Day this Weekend!
Tayto Park, Ireland’s only theme park and zoo is delighted to announce that on Sunday 12th May a special Autism Awareness Day will take place to support and raise awareness for autism in Ireland. On the day, Tayto Park will be creating an autism-friendly environment with the intention of allowing parents of children with autism and their families enjoy all the facilities and attractions available at Tayto Park.
Small changes at Tayto Park will include no music being played throughout the park, no hand dryers will be turned on for the duration of the day and queues for the attractions will be kept to a minimum during this time. In preparation for this special day, Tayto Park has created social stories (a visual guide describing the various social interactions, situations, behaviours and skills that they may encounter on the day) which will detail all attractions open on the day and help children with autism break down each social situation into steps that can be fully understood. Further information is available here http://www.taytopark.ie/uploads/events/detail/Social_Story_April_2018.pdf
We have worked with Autism Ireland to create this social story (a visual guide describing the various social interactions, situations and skills that children with autism may encounter).
Along with Autism Awareness Day, Tayto Park revealed a special Clubs Weekend on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th May, where clubs across the country can enjoy a special discounted entry and unlimited attractions for just €19.50 per person.
Whether you’re a swimming, arts and crafts, horse-riding or football club with a minimum of 30 group members, Tayto Park is encouraging club members from all four corners of the country to wear their club colours over the weekend and enjoy the ultimate club day out with their friends and peers. Clubs must pre-book and have the option of including a Special Kid’s lunch for just €4.95 per child*.
