Meath look good enough to negotiate Carlow challenge

Meath will travel to Portlaoise tomorrow for the Leinster SFC quarter-final showdown against Carlow (5pm) in the curtainraiser to the Louth v Dublin game at 7pm.

Meath have am unbeaten record in the championship against Carlow and when the teams met last in 2014 the Royal County won by 7-13 to 0-6.

Meath were far from impressive in the first round against Offaly, but dug out the win and a similar result tomorrow evening will keep the supporters happy although they will be looking for a more fluent display.

Carlow will be without manager Turlough O’Brien, coach Steven Poacher and midfielder Brendan Murphy due to suspension while Meath manager Andy McEntee has injury concerns about Shane McEntee and James McEntee.
