Motorcyclist dies following collision with tractor near Kells

A 26 year-old motorcyclist has died following a collision with a tractor at Balrath Cross, Kells.

At around 4.10pm on Saturday, gardaí were called to the scene of road traffic collision at Balrath Cross on the Mullingar Road between a motorcycle and a tractor. The driver of the motorcycle was seriously injured and was removed to Connolly Memorial Hospital, Blanchardstown.  He passed away in the early hours of this morning, Sunday 26th May.  The driver of the tractor, a man aged 19 years, was uninjured.

Garda forensic collision investigators were at scene and carried out a forensic collision investigation of the scene. The road was closed but has since reopened.
