All roads lead to Streete!
The Family Fun day and Vintage show in the parish of Streete, North Westmeath, takes place on Sunday 30th June. This is the shows 17th year and has become the highlight of the vintage calendar and the midlands favourite place to meet up for fans and enthusiast of all things vintage.
Over the years, Streete Vintage Show has become renowned for its welcoming and friendly approach, impressing the Irish Vintage Society so much, it decided to host the national finals here in 2005 and again in 2015. Every year the show goes from strength to strength, attracting a large crowd of exhibitors who travel from all over the midlands with classic cars, tractors, vans and every sort of vintage implement you could think of to show off.
As always the day will have many exhibitions and demonstrations with a great deal of entertainment for children like face painting and a new spectacular magic show.
There will be a host of arts and crafts with new and exciting fashion accessories also on display. The annual dog show is a huge crowd pulling event which is open to all classes of dog. The outdoor bandstand is always entertaining with all day music. This year the first lady of country music, Carmel McLoughlin, will be supporting legendary Country music star Johnny Brady who will be taking centre stage. Johnny is well known for one of the most distinctive voices in country music, his powerful vocals energetic performance and charismatic personality which will make it a day for all to enjoy.
Another first at this year’s show is a jiving competition judged by the keen eye of two professional dance teachers, and specially designed dance trophies to remember the day will be handed out to the winners. Streete Vintage show has always been a great value day out for all the family. Admission to the show is €10 and under 16s go free. There will also be a raffle with loads of great prizes.
