Trim cruise past 14-man Kilmessan

Trim took a giant leap towards securing a place in the SHC quarter-finals after just one game as they eased past Kilmessan with a 3-23 to 3-12 victory at Pairc Tailteann this evening.

For 30 minutes this was a tight contest and at the end of a pulsating opening half Trim led 0-13 to 1-9 and within four minutes of the restart Brian Dowling added his side's first goal to boost Trim to a significant lead.

Darren Reilly kep Kilmessan in touch, but after Joey Keena was sent-off in the 45th minute their challenge faded as Trim kicked on to victory.
