A broken spoke in Broken Bow! Shane Maguire's bicycle odyssey across America

Oldcastle's Shane Maguire is now just about half-way across the states on his epic fundraising cycle! Shane is currently in Nebraska but having a rough few days. Yesterday (Thursday 11th) he cycled 194km into a headwind, and unfortunately broke a wheel-spoke in the process. Finishing up in a town called Broken Bow, he faced the prospect of another 150km today on a wobbly wheel before reaching a bicycle shop. Hopefully he'll be back to full power tomorrow and hopes to be in Iowa shortly. 
On a happier note, Shane's uncle Michael Maguire of Ramor Utd GFC was working in Denver earlier in the week, and travelled to the Wyoming/Nebraska border to meet up with Shane and give him a boost! 

Shane is cycling across the USA in aid of the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association. He had already smashed his target of €5,000 before he even started the journey, and has currently raised over €16,000! To support Shane and this worthy cause, please log on to:
