Major meetings planned for proposed route of Drogheda to Mornington Greenway
Two public meetings are due to be held in the coming weeks to display the proposed route for the Boyne Greenway Drogheda to Mornington Section and Fine Gael Cllr Sharon Tolan is encouraging people to come along and see the plans for themselves.
“Sets of maps are available to view online or in Council Offices in Duleek and Navan, but I felt it’s such an important project for both Drogheda and East Meath that it’s important as many people as possible will get behind the planning application.
“We need public support for this plan to ensure a positive decision from An Bord Pleanala, whom the planning application will be submitted to for a decision.
“Meath Co Council passed the resolution at our September meeting to enter an agreement between Louth and Meath Local Authorities, that Meath will take the lead on this project that crosses over the border of both counties.
“The delivery of the Boyne Greenway will have a positive impact for all of us, delivering a great piece of infrastructure for both locals and visitors to the Boyne Valley, but also delivering much-needed footpaths, public lighting and traffic calming measures into the Mornington area.”
The first meeting will take place in The d Hotel in Drogheda on Monday 16th September from 7.30pm and the other will be held in the Village Hotel in Bettystown on Wednesday 25th September at 7.30pm.
