Patient records destroyed in Navan hospital fire
Several patient records were destroyed in last weeks fire at Our Lady's Hospital in Navan.
A spokesperson for the hospital confirmed the damage to records today.She said a company which specialises in the recovery and reconditioning of medical records is working closely with Our Lady’s Hospital to salvage as many records as possible, and the hospital is also working closely with the office of GDPR."The hospital is continuing to work with its insurance provider in assessing damages caused by the fire and by water damage. "The above processes are ongoing and will take several more weeks to complete," she said. CMG Body: Three wards of patients and staff were safely evacuated from Navan on Tuesday morning of last week. Fire crews from Navan, Kells and Trim attended the scene to deal with the blaze and the fire was dealt with fairly quickly, patients were evacuated and files were removed. The Ireland East Hospital Group said the fire started in a chart room at 6am.
