Dunboyne musicians' moving rendition of 'You'll Never Walk Alone' for Sean Cox

A group of musicians from critically-injured Liverpool football fan Seán Cox’s hometown of Dunboyne have come together to produce a moving rendition of Liverpool fan’s favourite ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ for release by Dolphin Records. All proceeds from the charity single will be donated to the Seán Cox Rehabilitation Trust which was established to raise much-needed funds for Seán’s future care. The 54 year-old father of three was left with life-changing injuries after an unprovoked attack before a Champions League semi-final in Anfield in April 2018.

The driving forces behind the 'YNWA – A Song For Seán' project are Gerry Hannigan, a Dunboyne businessman and amateur musician, and Andrew Bass of Central Entertainment Bureau ltd, also based in Dunboyne. Gerry and Andrew, and numerous other local volunteers, came together for a week to record and produce a haunting rendition of the number one classic which Liverpool FC fans around the world have adopted as their anthem. 

Gerry says: “This was a special project for all of us involved, especially as Seán is such a popular personality in the Dunboyne community and a close friend to many of us. I would like to extend our well wishes to Seán and his family, and to thank all of the musicians, singers and people involved in the production who gave so generously of their time in bringing this special rendition of ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ to life”.

The single will go on general release in November 2019 and will be available to purchase and download online.
