Baconstown double and St Seachnalls, Cortown and Dangan also win
Day one of the Meath Primary Schools' finals featured five games at Pairc Tailteann today.
The most exciting encounter was the Boys Div 4 decider between Baconstown and KIlbride (Trim) with the outcome in the balance until the final whsitle.
Baconstown prevailed with a late goal proving crucial as they won by 2-11 to 2-7 to complete a fine double as the Girls Div 4 crown was also secured.
Baconstown won that game by 3-7 to 1-2 against Coole in what was the opening game of the day at 10am.
Cortown recorded a fine win against Rathmore in a high-scoring Boys Div 5 final winning by 9-15 to 6-4.
The other game was the Girls Div 1 decider where St Seachnalls (Dunshaughlin) proved too strng for Dunboyne winning by 4-10 to 3-0.
Next Friday there will be four more finals while the last five deciders will be played next Saturday.
