Doctor-on-Call service moves to Dunshaughlin on temporary basis
The NEDOC Meath Service currently operating from the site of Our Lady’s Hospital Navan will relocate to Dunshaughlin Health Centre on a temporary basis from 6pm this evening, Tuesday 26th November.
It is planned to move the service back to a designated building in Navan town in March 2020. There will be no reduction in service provision during this time.
“The current site at Our Lady’s Hospital in Navan, from which NEDOC operates, is no longer suitable for current or future use and there has been acceptance that another winter pressure period and associated demands cannot be accommodated in the current accommodation in the interest of service users, staff and GPs,” said HSE Midlands Louth Meath Head of Primary Care, Joseph Ruane.
“Hence the decision to temporarily base the NEDOC service in Dunshaughlin while a new designated premises in Navan is prepared. Our priority is to maintain the NEDOC service in Navan and we are working towards achieving that over the coming months.”
The ultimate intention is that NEDOC will form part of the new HSE Primary Care Centre planned for Navan.
