Duleek teenager's beautiful song inspiring us all to look at the climate crisis issue
Calum Agnew a Duleek student and singer songwriter has tapped into the huge concerns young people have in relation to climate change and looks to inspire all generations to make the changes required to protect the planet’s future.
In a song he penned and performed himself, Calum (16) this beautiful, profound and moving anthem was produced and recorded by Colaiste Lurgan in Galway during Cúrsa C in the summer.
Coláiste Lurgan, an independent Irish language summer school, this week released its latest video and the original song written and performed by St Mary’s Drogheda student Calum.
The song, 'Rumble' demands a youth led new era of enlightenment to build consensus and to act in doing what is right.
Calum Agnew who hails from Duleek said: “The older generation may be making the decisions but it’s mine that will have to live with them. We’ve seen through the Extinction Rebellion and Greta Thunberg that it’s the youth who are leading the charge on Climate Change and I wrote Rumble in hope that it will inspire others to take positive action to save the planet.”
Mícheál Ó Foighil, Príomhfheidhmeannach Coláiste Lurgan, said “Our objective is to facilitate creativity and to affect positive changes. Calum and his friends care deeply about the really important issues and have the courage and conviction to act on them. They are the real leaders of today."
