Spirit of the Final awards - football

Meath's AllStar goalkeeper Monica McGuirk was in demand today when she presented the Meath Chronicle / Meath Primary Schools Spirit of the Final awards at the Dunganny GAA Centre this morning.

Monica took time out from her job in Drogheda where she heads up the team at the Aura Leisure Centre.

The Duleek woman pursued her passion professionally working in the health and fitness industry since a young age and last month the Aura Holohan Group announced that Monica will now be heading up the Aura Leisure Centre in Drogheda.

There was agreat reception for Monica who gave in inspirational speech to the children and then posed for photographs when the awards ceremony concluded.

Young Boardsmill goalkeeper Andrew Gallagher was a recipient of a Spirit of the Final award and got some tips from Monica when he had a photo with the top goalkeeper in the country and was then jpined by all his classmates who all got a chance to see the AllStar trophy.

There was an extra presentation for the overall Spirit of the Final and that went to Thomas Sheridan (Oldcastle) who received the inaugural Mikey Leddy Memorial Trophy and that was presented by Aisling Leddy.
