Status Yellow Wind Warning remains in place for this evening
A Status Yellow Wind Warning remains in place until 3am tomorrow (Thursday) with drivers urged to exercise caution if out on the roads this evening paying particular attention for spot flooding or fallen debris.
Met Eireann has forecasted a very wet and windy evening with strong or very strong and gusty southeast winds, with gale force winds along coasts. The rain heavy at times with spot flooding possible, the heaviest of the rain in southern and eastern counties.
It will continue very windy early tonight with strong to near gale force and gusty southerly winds, with gales or strong gales along coasts. Winds will gradually decrease light to moderate overnight.
Further outbreaks of rain early tonight, but the rain will quickly clear northwards, with just an isolated shower following overnight. A few patches of mist will form towards dawn. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 8 degrees.
Tomorrow will see a few bright spells and showers around on Thursday morning. In the late afternoon and evening a more organised band of rain will affect most areas with some heavy bursts in places. Highest temperatures of 9 or 10 degrees, in mostly light to moderate southeasterly breezes but stronger at times along coasts.
