Gardai investigate Drumconrath robbery

Gardaí are investigating a robbery at a filling station  in Drumconrath last night.

Two men confronted a member of staff at the XL Top Garage  at 8.45pm and demanded cash . One of the culprits was brandishing what appeared to be a handgun and they both wore balaclavas. They carried a large white plastic bag and forced the staff member to hand over the drawers of two tills.

The culprits fled the shop and ran up the road towards the graveyard on the Ardee Road.

One of the till drawers was later recovered on the N2 Ardee/Collon Road.
