3:20pm: Met Eireann says that Storm Brendan should clear the country by this afternoon, however, a secondary belt of wind is due to hit the west and northwest this afternoon and evening.

2:50pm: Water disruptions continue in areas of Co.Meath as a result of Storm Brendan.

There will be a water disruption for customers in St Finian's Terrace,Navan from 10am to 4pm on Tuesday,14th of January due to mains repair work.

There may also be a water disruption in Johnstown,Bective, Castletown Tara and surrounding areas on Monday,13th of January due to ESB power outage.

2:10pm: Meath Fire Service tending to a fallen tree on the Lagore Rd, Dunshaughlin. Road blocked. Please take caution on the roads.

2pm: A message from the Garda Síochána.

1:13pm: Cllr Alan Lawes: "Be very careful driving out the Athboy Road from Navan near Ratmore School. A tree is ready to fall be very careful."

1:12pm: More trees are falling as a result of Storm Brendan. As of recent, a tree at Bohermeen Road past Silver Tankard and another tree at Dunsany Road out of Kilmessan have both fallen down.

1:07pm: Meath Fire Service advises that #StormBrendan will bring extreme winds and heavy rain today. Status Orange weather warnings in force for all counties. Please take the opportunity to secure loose items around your home: Wheelie bins, garden furniture & trampolines. 

1pm:  As a result of an ESB Power Outage caused by Storm Brendan some people in the Longwood and surrounding areas of Meath may experience some water disruptions. The ESB Networks crew are currently working to restore the water supply.

12:52pm: Maynooth University are experiencing electrical disruptions in the North and South campus due to an external power outage. Maynooth university are currentlly working with the external providers to resolve the issue. It is unclear whether the schedualed exams for this afternoon will be going ahead.

12:35pm: Trees are down on Black Road Robinstown, on the road to the Newgrange National Monument and on Ballivor Road, Trim.

 

12:10pm: Customers without electricity has raised to 48,000 according to a senior engineer at ESB Networks.

Most of these people are located in the Southwest of Ireland.

It is expected that more people will continue to lose power as the storm moves eastwards.

12pm: The Squall line is moving East along with much stronger winds.

Conditions in the East and Midlands are expected to get worse over the next few hours.

11:44am: The HSE have asked for people to phone elderly or vulnerable neighbours to check that they are ok during Storm Brendan. They ask that people please heed public warnings and do not put themselves at risk. 

11:30am: ESB Networks have reported a fault in the Longwood and surrounding areas of Co.Meath.

ESB Networks have said that 21,000 homes and businesses across Ireland have lost power due to Storm Brendan with the most damage being in the Southwest.

Horse Racing Ireland (HRI) has announced that the Punchestown meeting has been rescheduled for this Wednesday afternoon, January 15 2020 after being cancelled as a result of the Staus Orange wind warning.

11am: The country is bracing itself for the arrival of Storm Brendan this morning. A Status Orange warning is in force for all counties with a Status Red in marine areas. 

Status Orange conditions may pose a threat to life & property. 

Authorities are warning of dangerous driving conditions, coastal flooding, power outages and risk of falling trees. 

Met Eireann is urging people to Avoid coastal areas if possible

Met Éireann has warned people to expect "several hours of very dangerous weather" as Storm Brendan tracks across the country. Gusts of up to 106km/h have been recorded in the west.

Status Orange wind warnings have been issued for all counties including Meath.

Evelyn Cusack said things will "liven up considerably during the morning" as Storm Brendan grows stronger.

The storm is expected to hit its peak in Meath between the hours of 11am-2pm.

Localised flooding is expected on the R150 Marsh Road at Stagrennen, and the R151 (Coast Road) at Mornington between 12pm and 2pm.

Bus Eireann have said that all of their services in the East will be operating normally.
